Why the world needs us
In the UK approximately 10 million people simply cannot afford to eat, 3.4 million of these are children. According to new research adults who are food insecure in the UK has quadrupled under the COVID-19 lockdown and The Trussell Trust are predicting a 61% increase in food bank use this winter.
COVID-19 has shone a light on the divides in our society but it has also shown the extraordinary power of the people who live in communities to rebuild and support one another.
Hungry Minds’ mission is to provide families who are struggling to feed themselves with the opportunity to eat a nutritious meal in a social environment. This meal is provided by local independent businesses allowing us to also fuel the local economy.

Due to COVID people are losing their jobs, businesses are closing and there has been a significant increase in food poverty in the UK. Families are sacrificing food to pay their bills.
We are raising money to provide these children and their families with food and human connection during these trying times. Every penny raised will go directly to feeding families with meals provided by local businesses.
We have no overheads during the trial phase so everything you donate will go directly to providing food to families and children in real need of a meal. The trial phase will begin as soon as we can feed one family and we hope, with your support, to feed 100!
